I am currently the Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota in the Department of Forest Resources. I teach or have taught courses in urban forestry, arboriculture, tree biology, and dendrology and work with the Landscape Architecture and Fisheries & Wildlife programs. My interest and passion is communicating science to improve natural resources in urban areas and working with people and trees to enhance the built landscape. Through research in urban tree biometrics, tree rings, storm and construction damage, and volunteer engagement I hope to advance scientific understanding, education, and community engagement as critical components to greening our urban landscapes.
